Orchards

In 2009 we planted the first apple trees on the farm, which were of the variety Aroma, Discovery and Nanna. Unfortunately, the trees were not fresh and our knowledge of apple trees were not too good. The majority of apple trees had died after a few years. However, we continued with apple trees, and in 2013 we planted another 200 apple trees and 50 pear trees. The new trees performed significantly better, both because of better conditions for the trees and the more knowledge we had. Since then it has gone fast. During 2019 we reached 1100 planted apple and pear trees.

Apples and pears are the cornerstones of our fruit products, but we also have smaller areas of redcurrant, blackberries, gooseberries, grapes, saskatoon, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, plums and rhubarb. All this along with our vegetables are for sale in our farm shop during the harvest season.
In the long term, we will also make jams, jellies, juices, etc. of our fruits and berries. Juice of our own apples you can already find in our farm shop.
